The emphasis on 21st Century Skills aligns with the District’s Strategic Plan because the Plan is dedicated to the success of every student as evidenced by its focus on meeting academic standards, achieving personal best, integrating technology and maximizing financial resources. The GRAD100 initiative aligns with the emphasis on 21st Century Leaning Skills because when students are motivated and engaged in learning, it is more likely that they will meet the necessary grade level standards that eventually result in graduation. A Middle School Task Force has developed a plan that maintains the district focus on teaming, emphasizes the importance of relationships, rigor and relevance and incorporates 11 action steps that align very closely with 21st Century Skills.
