How does the Emissary locate and enlist the volunteer services of its mentors?
At the present time, most of the Electronic Emissary’s volunteer mentors are personally recruited by existing EE mentors, facilitators, teachers, or parents who have participated in Emissary-sponsored telementoring projects. When the Emissary was first piloted in the fall of 1992, messages inviting potential mentors to find out more about participation in the project were posted to a variety of scholarly email distribution lists.
