How does the electronic renewal process work?
• The customer presents the Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice from the State of Illinois to your staff member. Only three items on the notice need to be input into the computer: • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) • License Plate Number • Plate expiration date • Your staff verifies with the customer that his/her vehicle matches the data on the computer screen. • You collect the state renewal fee plus a convenience fee of no more than $5.50. • Your staff hands the state supplied sticker to the customer. • Transaction completed in less than 2 minutes!
