How does the Dual Sync Mode work in the TLC?

The TLC will synchronize the requested Edit In Point for any deck to the known coincidence video frame for both sync rates. For example, synchronizing 1:00:00:00 time code at 24 frames with 1:00:00:00 at 30 frames. The time codes do not have to be the same number. Drop or Non-Drop Frame time code may be used on the 30 frame devices. There is no Drop Frame for 24 frame time code. To synchronize decks running at two video rates a special sync generator must be used to provide the two locked video rates plus a special reference pulse (called the 6Hz Pulse) that identifies the specific frames from each sync rate that are coincident.
