The Denver Police Department submits investigative reports in a case to be accepted for filing. Once the case is accepted, it is submitted for filing at the Denver District Attorney’s Office. After the case is filed and probable cause has been established, the contents of the court file become available to defense counsel. Requesting Discovery Counsel may request discovery by telephone at 720-913-9001 or the request may be sent by fax, along with the required entry of appearance, to 720-913-9035, attention Discovery Staff. Discovery will be provided to the Attorney of Record or an authorized agent ONLY. The office requires at least 48 hours notice to prepare discovery. A required entry of appearance must be supplied before discovery will be released. You or your attorney will be notified by phone or letter when discovery is ready to be picked up.
