As with the Tracking Camera, the patented AutoAuditorium Director uses information from camera images to determine what is going on. The camera pointed at the projection screen sees the images that are shown there. If there is nothing on the screen, then the Director knows it should not show that camera, as it contains nothing that would be interesting to the audiences. However, as soon as an image is projected on the screen, the Director detects its presence and selects that camera to be part of the program. Should the image on the screen stay there for a long time (which is a tunable parameter) the Director figures that the audiences have had a good chance to read and understand what is there and thus it may choose to cut away from the screen. It will then cycle between showing and not showing the screen until: • There is motion on the screen, such as when the slide changes or the speaker points to the screen, in which case it shows the screen immediately, or • The screen goes blank,
