How does the DigiDo home networking software work with the Windows built-in wireless features? Does it replace these?
This depends on what version of Windows. For newer computers with either Windows Vista, or Windows 7 the DigiDo software simply helps the Windows built-in capabilities for connecting to wireless networks. It does not replace this built-in software, nor does it disable it. The software helps by initially configuring the wireless gateway to use Charter approved and standard WPA security. It then helps ensure that whenever the user’s computer is at home that they will automatically connect to their own home network when ever they are at home, and to resolve problems with its “click-to-fix” features. Users can still use the built-in features of Windows to make connections to other networks and DigiDo will stay in synch with such changes (such as when away from home). DigiDo also includes a menu to help users connect to other networks.
