How does the detail and quality of a Republic fireplace surround compare with that of a typical marble or stone surround?
There are many grades of marble surrounds available. In fact some stone surrounds are priced comparably to our plaster surrounds. However, the old adage holds true “you get what you pay for”. Our marble and stone fireplace surrounds are sculpted entirely by hand. Many surrounds of inferior quality are manufactured by a computer controlled router. This method will not produce the level of detail or the slight differences which will allow you to admire your surround as a true work of art.
