How does The Desert Healthcare District decide who receives a grant?
Many factors enter into a final grant decision, the most significant of which is the demonstrated capacity of the applicant organization to impact one or more measurable result. In making that assessment, the Program Committee and Board consider, among other things, the applicant’s proposed strategy, organizational capacity to achieve the results and coordination with complementary efforts of other organizations. The Chief Program Officer and/or Committee members may speak with the applicants and sometimes conduct a site visit to make sure the proposed activities are fully understood.
