How does the death of Alexander the Great starts spread the Greek culture?

0

After the death of Alexander the Great the Empire he had built up from his conquering quest was cut up in portions between his Senior Generals . Though not without trouble between themselves. Egypt was given to Ptolemy , Thrace to Lysimachos,Syria to Seleucus, part of Persia and Turkey to Antioch etc. All of them established Dynasties which reigned over their Kingdoms for long periods of time. They all brought with them the Greek culture and very often obliged their subjects to adopt it. On the other hand some of Alexander’s veterans did not want to go on and settled down intermarrying with the local women and so established mixed cultural societies; two examples Dilmun on the Island of Bahrain and the Kalash in the Swat Valley in Afghanistan who still today claim Greek descendance and speak a language in which quite a lot of Greek words can be recognized. Hope this will help.
