How does the dare vehicles aid in teaching drug education?
We used to have a really great Camero Z28 but it finally gave out on us. Another officer and I got to drive that car, it was really great. Now we have a dare van that we drive to classrooms. When I was a regular officer kids would always flip me off when I was driving my police cruiser around. In the dare vehicle kids always wave to me. I really think that the dare program has been one of the most successful community policing efforts that has ever been enacted. It has been a really great way to facilitate relationships within these communities. Lesson #2 includes a video entitled Land of Decisions and Choices that is said to contain depictions of adults as senile drunks with the dare officer being the only positive adult role model. Is this video still used and what it its purpose? We still show a video with that same title in lesson #2. As a matter of fact I have it in my car right now.
