How does the CyBlock Appliance block protocols?

A2. When placed “in-line” in your network, the appliance sees all traffic flowing through it, including protocol traffic such as FTP or BitTorrent. Accordingly, the CyBlock Appliance will filter protocol traffic based on the filter policies you create. Included with every CyBlock Appliance is the CyBlock Client piece, which gathers identifiable usernames from the protocol traffic. This allows administrators to set up policies by username (not just IP address) and to see actual usernames in CyBlock Appliance’s real-time Web and Protocol monitors.
