How does the customer drop-off service option at UPS stores work?
The customer drop-off service option is available for iPod and iPhone customers at UPS stores in the U.S. First, contact Apple to arrange for repair service. Apple will provide you with a Repair ID number to take with your hardware to a UPS store. The UPS store will ship your hardware to Apple for repair service. When service is completed, Apple will ship the serviced unit back to you. There is no additional shipping charge for warranty repairs or repairs covered by the AppleCare Protection Plan.
