How does the cruise sector contribute towards the proposed assessment?
The assessment is intended to impact consumer transactions that take place in Alaska. A significant majority of these transactions (by our estimation over 40%) would be derived from land tours, shore excursions, motor coach transportation, railroad trips and other activities purchased by cruise passengers visiting Alaska. The cruise sector will also continue to give a voluntary contribution of one million dollars.
