How does the cost of living affect unit labour costs across countries?

Inflationary pressures mean that there is a demand for higher wages- (because the cost of living increases). This then pushes up the unit labour cost. So a country which does not control inflation will have a higher unit labour cost-meaning its goods are more expensive and less competitive. Bad news for them as it all goes round in a cycle.
