How does the cost of a Sun Modular Datacenter compare with a build-out of a traditional datacenter?
As each customer and country will have different costs, Sun has done internal benchmarking to compare the costs of deploying a Sun Modular Datacenter vs. constructing new datacenter capacity. In general, for a specific capacity (e.g. 100kW), Sun Modular Datacenter is approximately 15% less expensive than a datacenter build-out. When time is the deciding factor, Sun Modular Datacenter is an order of magnitude faster to deploy and is therefore far more efficient and cost effective than a traditional build-out.
