How does the Coordinated Family Literacy and Family Support Pilot Project differ from Even Start Family Literacy?
This Request for Proposals (RFP) provides funding that is primarily targeted to assist in the coordination and integration of existing programming already present in the community and to build community support for this comprehensive approach to serving families in need. A substantial portion of these funds must be used to ‘glue’ together existing services and resources from multiple funding sources and build a comprehensive four-component system of integrated family literacy and family support services. If there is an Even Start Family Literacy program in the community, the program is part of the complete picture of community assets and should be a partner in the community proposal.
