How does the committee view my choice to take Honors or AP courses in high school as opposed to standard college prep courses?
We are always looking for students who are willing to challenge themselves academically by taking honors, AP or other advanced courses. Counselors also make every effort to familiarize themselves with your high school so they are aware of how many advanced courses are offered to you. If your high school does not offer honors courses or only offers a handful of AP courses, we will take that into consideration. While it is important to challenge yourself, it is also important to continue to maintain a solid academic record.
