How does the Comit d’Aide Mdicale choose the countries and projects of intervention ?

The first criteria we look at is emergency humanitarian need. We also help “forgotten populations”, who live in areas where there are few, if any humanitarian organizations. Before deciding to embark upon a new mission, systematic research is conducted in the country to determine the actual need. When the evaluation is completed, the findings sometime lead to a new project. All projects run by our organization must adhere to our mandate: access to health care for all. Before a completely new project gets started, the Conseil d’Administration (Administrative Counsel) of the organization must give their formal approval (except in cases of natural disasters where decisions are made in a few hours over the telephone).
