How does the class registration process work for CPTP, Leadership, and Civil Service required supervisory classes? Will I be guaranteed a seat in a class?
Scheduling for the leadership training program and other CPTP classes is handled through a scheduling database that is maintained at LTRC. Since the majority of courses are provided through the Governor’s Comprehensive Public Training Program (CPTP), and CPTP must serve all twenty state agencies, the Governor’s CPTP Office gives DOTD spaces in most, but not all of their classes. There are currently over 900 employees participating in the DOTD Leadership Training Program, with a total of more than 2,000 unscheduled courses. Applicants are scheduled for the courses they need according to application priority (e.g., needed for current position, needed for promotion, needed after next promotion, or not needed but desired), the “need by” date, and the application date. Those who have the highest priority and have been waiting the longest for a course get scheduled first.
