How does the City of Monroe Use GIS?
• The GIS Division is umbrelled under the IS Department. The GIS Coordinator is responsible for the management and coordination of policies, formulation of GIS business strategies, standards, and outreach of the City’s Enterprise GIS Program as well as geographic technology investments. She provides training, technical support, and user group meetings. In addition, the coordinator is responsible to actively work to further the development and use of GIS through the communication of data needs, data transfer requirements, and the implementation of data sets and data standards. This person is very active with City Departments and in assisting with application implementation on a daily basis.
