How Does the Citgo Team Celebrate Americas Birthday?
Huntersville, N.C. (July 3, 2002) – As America prepares to celebrate another birthday, the No. 99 CITGO team is gearing up to head back to Daytona. Thursday marks the 226th birthday of the United States of America and while most Americans have the day off; the No. 99 CITGO team will take the track at Daytona International Speedway for practice and qualifying. The smell of BBQ’s and light showers from firework displays will rain on much of the US but how will the No. 99 CITGO team celebrate in 2002? At the office. They will have a BBQ of their own as transporter driver Joe Wernert will be cooking hotdogs on the grill and serving potatoe and macaroni salad. And of course there will be plenty of ice cold Coke on hand for beverages.
