How does the chemistry work? How effective is it in the presence of soil?
Hydrogen peroxide and peracetic acid are both powerful oxidizing agents, and they work by destroying internal components of target microorganisms. Peracetic acid, the stronger oxidizer, breaches the outer membrane, coat, or capsule of the target microbe. Hydrogen peroxide then reacts with and destroys the microbe’s internal components, such as DNA. Refer to the How it Works Video to see the actives in action. The KIMTECH* One-Step Germicidal Wipe cleans and disinfects in one step as the name implies. It has been proven effective in light to moderate soil, and it has been shown to kill HIV, Hepatitis B (HBV) and Hepatitis C (HCV) in the presence of 50% whole blood. Pre-cleaning required for C. difficile spores.
