How does the CBCP, ABCP, and MBCP compare ?
CBCP is a vendor independent top level management certification covering all the critical concepts, objectives, and terminology. CBCP designation is for individuals with at least two years of experience. DRII will check your references. ABCP is the Associate Business Continuity Planner certification. It was designed for individuals with less than 2 years experience in business continuity. You can move up to CBCP once you have the experience. ABCP is an excellent starting point. MBCP is the Master Business Continuity Planner. Individuals are required the have at least five years of substantial experience, personal interview, write a paper on continuity, and pass the MBCP examination. The path is to complete CBCP then embark on MBCP.
