How does the Career Switcher program work?

The Career Switcher program is a two-level format. To complete Level I, you would need to take four required courses. Two courses may be taken in the spring, two courses may be taken in the summer, or all four Level I courses can be taken in the summer. During the fall and spring semesters, the Washington, DC and the Virginia Beach campus schedule is as follows: 6:00pm-10:00pm every other Thursday and Friday, and 9:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays. The summer program is from early May through the end of July. One of the summer courses is one week in length (M-F 9:00am-5:00pm), one course is completely taught via the Internet, and the other two courses are completed in night / weekend formats. After completing Level I preparation, candidates are awarded a one year Virginia Eligibility License and are expected to seek and obtain employment in a Virginia public or accredited nonpublic school.
