Our dataloggers are passively designed to use no external power source. Other dataloggers on the market need external power to power their serial line drivers but we have accomplished this without needing power. *If you have a Handspring or Sony Clie, you will need our externally powered cable to power their internal line drivers. Handspring and Sony decided to leave these out of the PDA to conserve power. If you have a Palm it will work fine without.
