How does the Business program calculate a combined college and SFU average?
When an SFU and a college or technical GPA (grade point average) are combined to form an admission GPA for the Business Administration program, we use the following formula: SFU CGPA * SFU credit hrs = X College (Admission GPA – 0.3) * College transfer credit hrs = Y (X + Y) / (SFU + College transfer credit hrs) = Business Admission average This 0.3 adjustment is only applicable to college transfer credits, not university transfer credits. Note: The .3 deduction will not apply to courses taken in Summer 2008 and later at former colleges that are now designated as universities (Kwantlen, Fraser Valley, Capilano, Malaspina). The .3 deduction will still apply to courses taken prior to Summer 2008 for these institutions. Visit our BBA website if you wish to try our CGPA estimator calculator.
