How does the buffer progress bar work?
Hulu will buffer a small portion of a show, movie, or clip when you pause the video during playback. You can see how much of a video has been loaded with the buffer progress bar that appears in the Hulu player while a video is paused. When the bars reach “full,” about five minutes of the video have been loaded. Due to legal reasons, Hulu currently does not buffer more than a small portion of a video at a given time.
