How does the brightness of the bulb compare to the last two runs?
The above exercise shows that the current really follows two entirely different paths. Both of the two-bulb diagrams you just made represent the exact same circuit. It is easier to see the separateness of current paths in the second diagram. Keep in mind that current going through the first load is not the same current that is going through the second load. Also remember that the voltage across each path is the output voltage of the dry cell. Now let’s go back to the wiring board. • Your diagram could look something like this. Add a third 0.5-ohm bulb to your circuit by choosing the light from the Load panel and clicking between two points on the Wiring Area to place it to the right of the first bulb. Wire this bulb to the previous circuit with its own rectangle. There are now three paths for current to follow, one through the first bulb, one through the second bulb, and one through the third bulb. Note the brightness of the bulbs.
