How does the BOD(Bandwidth-on-Demand)work in Prestige 480?

In the SMT menu 11.2 of the Prestige 480, users can enable the BOD function and then set up the “Min/Max channels” to determine the min/max number of channel to be used. In the same menu 11.2, users must specify the value in the field of “Target Utility for 2nd channel(Kbps)”. This value will tell Prestige 480 when will be the proper time to add/substract the additional channel. (Refer to user’s guide the section 4.1.4 PPP Multilink). For example, if the value for the field set by users is 32-48kbps(base transmission rate-maximum transmission rate) and min/max channel is set to 1/4, the resulting action will be like while the average bandwidth utility rate reach 32kbps, the second chanel will be added; and further, the third channel will be added while the utility rate reach 96kbps( 32bps + 64kbps( 1*B-channel) = 96kbps). As for the 48kbps of maximum transmission rate, it means if there are 2 channels used, the 2nd channel will be dropped while the usage rate is lower than 48kbps.
