How does the Becker Conviser material work and how does the semester flow?
When enrolling in each course, the student will receive two BC textbooks (one for each CPA exam section) and several CD-ROM discs. From this material, the student will work through each of the assigned BC lessons. Each lesson will entail viewing a 3-3.5 hour streaming video lecture (from CD), followed by working through a number of multiple choice questions provided by BC, building flash cards of key points and concepts, studying the lesson material, asking faculty about issues and questions via online access and ultimately completing the lesson. A Lesson Completion Form is filled out and sent to the academic professor indicating completion of that lesson. After a few weeks of lessons, a Saturday ‘live’ session is held to review those lessons, followed by a two-hour exam, which is proctored at a site where you live (a librarian, an HR department, etc.) The Becker materials include several hundred old CPA exam questions as well as several new simulation questions in CPA exam format – al
