How does the baby eat inside the womb?

Fetuses do not “eat” like you and I eat or even as newborn would eat. That is the do not eat with there mouths. All nutritional needs are met through the umbilical cord. The equivalent for you or I would be I.V nutrition. The placenta, it kinda looks like a liver, is attached to the uterus and is the “gateway” between mom and baby. It extracts everything the baby need from the moms blood stream and passes it through the cord to the baby and it also works in reverse. It acts kinda like a dialysis machine by extracting all the waste and passing it back in to moms blood stream.
