The Authenticator maintains a secure white list of all the participating websites. Whenever a user navigates to a participating website, the Authenticator will proceed to check the authenticity of the website’s digital certificate, ensuring that the digital certificate has been issued to the website by the trusted certificate authority that is known to have issued the certificate to the website. In addition, it compares the website’s DNS information with a known good secure DNS record.
