How does the assignment process work for the NBA D-League?
An NBA team may assign a player on its active list or inactive list to an NBA Development League team at any time, if the player has one year or less of service. Upon NBA D-League assignment, the player is placed on the NBA teams inactive list, and reports to the NBA D-League team. The NBA team can call the player back whenever theyd like. Each player is limited to three NBA D-League work assignments over the course of one NBA season.
