How does the assignment process work for the D-League?
An NBA Team may assign a player on its active list or inactive list to an NBA Development League (NBADL) team at any time, if the player has one year or less of service. Upon NBADL assignment, the player is placed on the NBA Teams inactive list, and reports to the NBADL team. The NBA team can call the player back whenever theyd like. Each player is limited to three NBADL work assignments over the course of one NBA season. For more information on the assignment process, visit the Collective Bargaining Agreement chapter on the D-League at http://www.nbpa.com/cba_articles/article-XLII.php.
