How does the Ambulance District contract for services?
The Ambulance District presently contracts for performance-based services to cover the entirety of Blaine County. Under the present contract format, the District has divided the County into two major ambulance service areas: one from the Greenhorn Bridge north and the other from the Greenhorn Bridge south. Ketchum Fire Department covers the north area. Wood River Fire and Rescue covers the south area. The Ambulance District Commissioners ask contract service providers to present annual budget requests including additional information to support the requests.
