How Does The Amazon Tribe Survive In Such A Tough Climate?
There really isn’t an “Amazon tribe.” There are quite a few tribes that live in the Amazon, though, so I’ll assume you meant those. As has already been said, societies inevitably adapt to their environments. Or adapt the environments to themselves. The primary form of subsistance among natives of the South American is called slash-and-burn horticulture. A family cuts a clearing out of the forest and leaves the trees to dry for a little while. Then they burn it, which adds the nutrients from the trees to the soil. Crops are planted in the ash all intermingled, so they’ll have beans, corn, gourds, etc all planted in the same field. I’m not sure if they use the same field for more than one season, but because the rainforest soil doesn’t retain nutrients very well, they do have to move around frequently, allowing the old fields to grow back up. There are lots of other aspects to survival in the jungle, of course, but I doubt anybody wants a full description of all of it, and sustenance is
