The system of allocated quarters was introduced to rationalise local delivery of appraisal and to optimise the limited capacity of each appraiser. Your allocated quarter is set by the Appraisal Unit and is set approximately 9-15 months after the completion of your GPR training. It is the responsibility of each GP to select an appraiser and arrange an appraisal date within their relevant quarter. If an appraisal interview takes place out of the allocated quarter the reason for this delay is recorded on the Form 4 of the appraisal folder and this is shared with the Appraisal Unit. Appraisers available within your area are shown when making your choices. Whilst you can choose an appraiser from another area it makes sense to stay local and undertake an interview within your allocated quarter.
