How does the absence of presidential term limits become counter-democracy?
Don’t you see what is happening now; that there is degeneration in the democratic principle of tolerance of other people’s views? Don’t you see an increase in press censorship? What about the failure to wipe out corruption? Was it not after the term limits were removed that we began to see more threats of disintegration as more people wished to break away from the rest of Uganda? The indicators are so many to prove that it is actually an act of treason and lack of patriotism to whoever promoted and supported the removal of term limits. It is argued by some political analysts that since you spearheaded the opposition to the lifting of term limits, you would now be a force to reckon with if you had remained in the NRM? My participation had nothing to do with creating a force to reckon with, but to guide the nation on what I deemed necessary for the good of our democracy, national unity, and stability.
