How does the ABS define Metropolitan and non-Metropolitan?
The ABS does not define Metropolitan and non-Metropolitan Areas. To be sure what the terms mean in a particular instance you need to contact the source of the information. In general the terms are used to mean the Capital City Statistical Divisions and the rest of State. For more information on Statistical Divisions see: the Main Structure in the ASGC. A Capital City/Rest of State division will be available under the ASGS.
