How does the Abbott districting affect Better Beginnings?
State funds are provided to those areas to create full day Kindergarten, full day Preschool for 4-year-olds, and even some 3-year-olds. They are also constructing needed buildings so that there is room, space for all those children. Teachers are being paid salaries that are comparable to others in the school districts. Teachers are scarce as it is; now there is a huge demand for preschool teachers. Better Beginnings with its present funding cannot compete with what is being offered in these districts.
