How does the 3 dBi Dual Band Diversity antenna (J8997A) connect to the Access Point 530, since it has two cable connections off the antenna?
The 3 dBi Dual Band Diversity antenna (J8997A), enables omni directional diversity gain for either a 2.4GHz or 5GHz radio. To enable diversity on one radio, the installer connects both antenna leads to both connectors on the Access Point 530 labeled as 2.4GHz Primary and 2.4GHz or 5GHz Primary and 5GHz. If the desire is to use this antenna for omni (non diversity) for both radios, connect one antenna lead (doesn’t matter which one) to the 2.4GHz Primary connector on the radio port and the other antenna lead to the 5GHz Primary connector on the same radio port. The individual antenna elements are designed to accommodate the full frequency spectrum. This antenna is approved for use on the ProCurve Access Point 530 and the ProCurve Radio Port 220.
