How does the 2wire Home Network device work with the newer UHP ADSL modems?

In order to use the Home Networking product with an external UHP ADSL modems (Broadmax or Dataquest model), the UHP modem must be configured to work in bridged mode. This will enable the PPPoE client to reside on the HomePortal instead of the external modem. Check out /faq/5528 to see how to Disable the router mode on the UHP modem.
