How does the 14-19 strategy fit around the national priority of KS4?
A 14-19 strategy could be incorporated into the national priority for raising attainment at KS4. Alternatively if, in the light of the local audit, the LEA wishes to deal with post-16 education separately, 14-19 education could be covered partly under KS4 and partly under a separate local priority covering 16-19 education in schools, making clear the links between this EDP2 priority and that in the LSP for 16-19 provision as a whole. As paragraph 82 of the guidance makes clear LEAs may brigade their priorities in a number of ways, provided it is clear from the audit and the school improvement programme how the priorities have been identified and what they are intended to achieve. In either case the EDP2 should make clear links to work undertaken in collaboration with the local Learning and Skills Council.
