How does Tecsem Process compare to other waste management activites?
It requires less land mass than a classical sanitary landfill and up to five times less investment than an incinerator of equivalent capacity. It’s main production, organic compost, enables the development of local agriculture and horticulture. It also allows a very substancial cost reduction to the importation of chemical fertilizers while always improving the agricultural soil productivity thanks to it’s soil regeneration action. Compared to the landfill, a Tecsem plant improves the sanitary conditions of the population thanks to the elimination of the infectious sources, gas emissions (methane and odors) , underground water table contamination and respect for the landscape while extending the life time of the existing landfills. Tecsem plants generate a more pleasurable work environment than those found at landfill sites and are a new source of raw materials, which are an essential key in regards to the development of the local and national recycling industries.
