When you purchase a Taser, it doesn’t matter which model you buy, they all work the same. Here is how they work. All Tasers come in two parts, the first part is the Taser itself which works as a handheld stun gun that allows you to make direct contact with the attacker. The 2nd part is what they call the “air cartridge”. An air cartridge is a square looking box which has two 15-foot wires that are attached to metal probes. When you insert the air cartridge into the front of the Taser, press the trigger, the air cartridge is going to open up and will shoot out two 15-foot wires and that’s what gives you the distance. As long as the Taser is attached to the attacker’s body through the wire, everytime you press the trigger, the Taser will send out a few second pulse through the wire into the attacker’s body which will keep him down.
