How does Tara Energy demonstrate the principle and support of corporate social responsibility and community involvement?
As I mentioned earlier, we have an extremely diverse workforce which serves an equally diverse customer group. From the very beginning, we have encouraged all our employees to engage in different community and civic organizations at the grass-root level and beyond. We intend Tara’s corporate donations to serve as an example of active and intelligent community engagement for our employees and others in the community. To that end, we normally don’t just write checks, but get actively involved with causes that matter to our stakeholders. For example, we worked very closely with the Texas Parent Teacher Association to produce and distribute thousands of DVDs that educate parents about the issues surrounding teenage alcohol and drug abuse. In fact, we even connected the PTA to our media partners, which aired portions of the DVD on two major network television talk shows at our request.
