How does Sweetwater Pools keep lifeguard skills sharp throughout the summer?
We have weekly inservice training for all pool staff members. Managers must meet weekly with their Executive Director and Inservice Coordinator for a one-hour training session. The ten safety topics of the week are discussed, and CPR, First Aid and lifeguard skills are practiced. These training and practice materials are then taken back to their respective pool facilities where onsite training and practice takes place throughout the following week. In addition, internal audits, performed by our certified Sweetwater Pools Auditors take place monthly throughout the season at each of our facilities to evaluate facility readiness and to test lifeguard skills.
