How does SVO compare to gas (natural gas / petroleum gas)?

0

Natural gas and petroleum gas used as fuel in combustion engines cause cleaner emissions than traditional fuels. With current technology natural gas can only be used in engines that are especially designed for this fuel. Natural gas can be used in diesel engines together with diesel fuel where the gas is mixed in with the air going into the engine in order to make for more complete combustion, gain power and reduce harmful emissions. Converting a diesel engine for this involves pressurized containers and fuel lines, valves for mixing in the gas, a fuel mixture management system and extensive safety measures. A disadvantage of either type of gas is that it takes up four times the amount of tank space of traditional fuels with equal energy value. This makes it impractical for long distance travel. Besides that is neither one of these gasses a renewable fuel and users will still be dependent on the countries and regions that produce and export.
