How does STRUDS® perform Wind Analysis?

0

Once the wind load parameters are given by the user, STRUDS® internally calculates the exposed area available, at the peripheral nodes, for each of the plane frames. The Wind loads are calculated both for the Plane Frames in the X as well as the Y direction. The wind loads are then calculated as = (Cpe +/- Cpi). A. Pz Where Cpe = External pressure coefficient Cpi = Internal pressure coefficient A = Exposed area available at the node under consideration Pz = Design Wind pressure, given as 0.006 * Vz2 Vz = Velocity of the wind in the area where the building is located.
